   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Gian Clavell (193-93, college: Colorado St., currently plays in Greece). He led Promitheas to a victory over the closely-ranked Lavrio (17-5) 86-79 in the Greek A1 in Thursday night's game. Clavell was MVP of the game. He recorded 28 points (!!!) and added 6 assists in 38 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. ASP Promitheas Patras (4-1) is placed second in the A1. Clavell has relatively good stats this year: 14.8ppg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 37.5%, 3FGP: 38.5% and FT: 85.0% in four games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Puerto Rican senior national team.

John Holland
John Holland
   #2. Second place goes to an experienced former international guard John Holland (196-88, college: Boston U., currently plays in VTB United League). Holland was the major contributor in Unics' victory against the sixth-ranked Enea Zastal BC Zielona Gora (13-11) 90-79 in the VTB United League last Friday. He scored 17 points and added 4 passes. Unics Kazan (18-6) is placed second in group A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Holland's first season with the team. This year Holland averages: 9.0ppg, 2.4rpg, 2.0apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 56.0%(28-50), 3FGP: 36.8% and FT: 95.7%(22-23). He has a dual citizenship: Puerto Rican and American. Holland played for the Puerto Rican national team in 2019. He used to play for Caciques de Humacao in Puerto Rican league.

   #3. The Puerto Rican player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Gary Browne (185-93, college: WVU, currently plays in Italy). Browne could not help Trento (3-0) in their last game. Despite his good performance the league leader Trento lost 79-93 on the road to the leading Milano. Browne scored 13 points and added 6 passes in 30 minutes. This year Browne has relatively solid stats: 13.5ppg, 3.9rpg, 5.4apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 44.6%, 3FGP: 33.1% and FT: 84.6% in 31 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Puerto Rican and American. Browne is also a member of the Puerto Rican senior national team. He used to play for Coamo in Puerto Rican league.

Jonathan Rodriguez
Jonathan Rodriguez
   #4. Forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell, currently plays in Colombia) contributed to Titanes' victory against the closely-ranked Cafeteros (6-3) 82-73 in the Colombian LPB last Wednesday. He had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 11 rebounds. Rodriguez also added 6 assists in 31 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Titanes de Barranquilla (9-0) is placed first in the LPB. So far his team won all nine games in the Regular Season. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Rodriguez has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 18.2ppg, 8.6rpg and 4.1apg in 10 games. Rodriguez has both Dominican Republic and Puerto Rican nationalities. He is also Puerto Rican national team player.

   #5. International forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson, currently plays in Colombia) was not able to help Piratas in their game against Sabios (4-5) in the Colombian LPB. Despite his very good performance on Wednesday night Parker-Rivera recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added and 3 steals. The Regular Season already ended. Parker-Rivera has reliable stats this season: 14.7ppg, 7.5rpg, 3.8apg and 1.2spg. He also holds two passports: Puerto Rican and American. Parker-Rivera plays currently for the Puerto Rican national team. He used to play for Cariduros de Fajardo in Puerto Rican league.

Owens Perez

   #6. Forward Owens Perez (203-92, currently plays in El Salvador) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Chalchuapa (1-13) crushing them 98-68 in the Salvadorean Liga MB (second division) in Friday night's game. He had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 12 rebounds. Perez also added 4 assists in 21 minutes. Santa Tecla BC (12-2) is placed first in the Liga MB. Perez has very impressive stats this year: 15.4ppg, 17.6rpg and 3.4apg in 17 games. He is a former U18 international player as he played for the Puerto Rican team eleven years ago.

International swingman Justin Reyes (193-95, college: STAC, currently plays in Dominican Republic) contributed to a San Lazaro's victory against one of league's weakest teams El Million (2-4) 93-84 in the Dominican Rep. TBS (fourth division) last Wednesday. Reyes recorded 16 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. San Lazaro Jobo Bonito (4-1) is placed second in the TBS. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This season Reyes has very high stats. He averages: 16.0ppg, 8.2rpg and 3.2apg. Reyes holds both American and Puerto Rican passports. He is also Puerto Rican national team player. Reyes used to play for Indios de Mayaguez in Puerto Rican league.

Ramon Clemente

   #8. Power forward Ramon Clemente (200-85, college: Wichita St., currently plays in Dominican Republic) helped Barias win their game against the league outsider Los Prados (0-5) crushing them 108-82 in the Dominican Rep. TBS (fourth division) on Friday night. He scored 15 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 27 minutes. Club Rafael Barias (3-2) is placed third in the TBS. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. Clemente's stats this year are: 11.8ppg, 6.0rpg and 2.5apg in four games. He holds both American and Puerto Rican passports. Clemente plays currently for the Puerto Rican national team. He used to play for Indios de Mayaguez in Puerto Rican league.


The list of other players, who all have Puerto Rican passport but never been selected to any of Puerto Rican national teams:

   #1. Experienced Walter Hodge (183-PG-86, college: Florida, currently plays in Basketball Africa League) led his Egyptian team Al Zamalek to a victory over the league leader Fer.Maputo (2-1) 71-55 in the Basketball Africa League in Monday night's game. Hodge was the best player in that game. He recorded 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his five free throws). It was his first game for Al Zamalek this season. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. His team is placed second in the Basketball Africa League. Hodge's team will play only one more game in the Basketball Africa League Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Hodge has a dual citizenship: U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rican.

   #2. Ivan Aska (201-F-90, agency: 011 Sports, college: Murray St., currently plays in North Macedonia) was the major contributor in Rabotnicki's victory against the seventh-ranked TFT Skopje (12-10) 72-65 in a derby game in the North Macedonian Prva Liga in Wednesday night's game. Aska had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 11 rebounds in 26 minutes. KK Rabotnicki AD Skopje (15-7) is placed second in the Prva Liga. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Aska's stats this year are: 13.9ppg, 6.4rpg and 1.4spg in seven games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rican.

   #3. Jose Guitian (207-F-87, college: Lasell, currently plays in Colombia) could not help Piratas (3-6) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Guitian's very good performance Piratas was defeated 94-84 at home by the higher-ranked Tigrillos (#4). He scored 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. The Regular Season already ended. Guitian's stats this season are: 11.8ppg, 6.3rpg and 2.3apg. He has both American and Puerto Rican nationalities. Guitian used to play for Leones de Ponce in Puerto Rican league.

   #4. Kyle Vinales (185-G-92, agency: Network Sports International, college: CCSU, currently plays in Lithuania) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Neptunas (14-22) 94-78 in the Lithuanian LKL on Sunday night. He scored 6 points in 25 minutes. Panevezys Lietkabelis (23-13) is placed third in the LKL. Vinales has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.2ppg, 2.0rpg and 4.7apg in 33 games. Vinales also holds two passports: Puerto Rican and American. He used to play for Bayamon in Puerto Rican league.

   #5. Stephen Thompson Jr. (194-G-97, college: Oregon St., currently plays in Italy) was not able to help SAzzurra RO (2-2) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Thompson Jr.'s very good performance the third-placed SAzzurra RO (2-2) was defeated 93-87 on the road by the second-ranked Bergamo in the Places 25-27 group. He recorded a double-double by scoring 32 points and getting 14 rebounds. Thompson Jr. also added 4 assists and 5 steals. There are only three games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game is very crucial. This season Thompson Jr. has very high stats. He averages: 20.5ppg, 5.8rpg, 2.9apg and 2.2spg. Thompson Jr. holds both American and Puerto Rican passports. Strangely he has never played in Puerto Rico.

   #6. Gary Diaz (193-G-92, currently plays in Colombia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jose Guitian. But that was another game of his team in Colombian LPB which we would like to mention. Diaz was not able to secure a victory for Piratas (3-6) in their last game. Despite his good performance Piratas lost 83-97 on their home court in Bogota to the leading Titanes. Diaz recorded 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 35 minutes. This year Diaz's overall stats are: 3.1ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.3apg in nine games.

   #7. Denilson Fonseca (190-G-98, currently plays in Luxembourg) managed to help Basket Esch to win against the ninth-ranked Musel Pikes 87-74 in the Luxembourg Total League on Saturday night. He scored only 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Fonseca's overall stats this season are: 4.2ppg and 3.0rpg.

   #8. Kevin Maura (173-PG-95, agency: Paris Global Sports, college: UMBC, currently plays in Dominican Republic) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Los Prados crushing them 108-82 in the Dominican Rep. TBS (fourth division) in Friday night's game. Maura scored only 2 points and added 6 assists. Maura's overall stats this season are: 2.8ppg, 3.4rpg, 5.6apg and 1.6spg.
